RE-DE AGRICULTURE AND AGRICULTURE BASED RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
In the developed countries; the researches directed to agriculture and agricultural industry, industry and the technology production are attached great importance for the purpose of achieving self sufficiency. In Turkey, the sources allocated for agriculture and agriculture based industries and the technical infrastructure of the research is highly insufficient. The nutrients required for people to survive are supplied from agriculture. Today, the people don’t content with the nutrients existing in the nature and have tended to the obtainment of species which will be able to comply with different environmental conditions, intensification of technology use in agriculture and the enhancement of production. Agriculture, within this process, has transformed into a system integrated by natural resources. Growth in agricultural production depends on the opportunities of benefiting from scientific and technological developments at a certain level. The factors such as the dependency of agriculture on natural conditions, shifting of ecological conditions in respect of countries, regions and zones, the fact that the inputs used are living limit the universality of the data obtained as the result of agricultural researches at a certain level and generates the necessity of performing agricultural researches in the country.
This situation is the most important difference of agricultural researches from the other researches. For this reason, it is substantially needed to attach importance to the studies intended for ensuring the technological development in agriculture, test the validity of the technologies obtained in the other countries in the country conditions, the technology application process . The countries, developing also in agricultural technology, are generally dependent on developed countries.The only way to avoid this dependency is to enable the research institutions to work more efficiently through improving their conditions. As Konya Şeker San. ve Tic A.Ş , we have already established our RE-DE department for contributing to the national economy and our farmers’ falling into step with new agricultural technologies, through speeding up these developments and have been carrying on our researches for 5 years.
