ALTINEKİN FACILITY FOR THE PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING OF CONTRACTUAL SEED AND CERTIFICATED SEED
Production and Business Scheme
Konya Şeker established the most modern Facility for Seed Production and Processing in Altınekin district, which is the most appropriate region in terms of both its climate and its market, for the purpose of producing certificated seed through making our partners plant the types whose genotypes are specified by contract and classifying the products obtained under the provisions defined in 5553 numbered Seed Growing Law.
Our Facility for Seed Production and Processing with 20 tons/hour sieving capacity, having a total closed space of 3.800 m2, open space of 106.200 m2 consisting of a production space of 1.000 m2 and a seed stocking space (storage) of 2.450 m2, administrative building of 350 m2, started the production in October 2008.
In the facility which will firstly be operated with a capacity of 12 tons per hour; sunflower, hungarian vicia sativa, clover seed, bean and safflower seed will be prepared besides wheat and barley.
Contractual production was started in the production season of 2007 - 2008, 650 tons of certificated wheat and barley seeds were produced.
Contractual planting was performed with 88 farmers on an area of 8.600 decares in the production season of 2008 – 2009. 3.000 tons of certificated wheat and barley production is expected in this production season.
